Yes I know, I know! Its been 52 years since I was last on here, but I had to clear up my blurriness so that this year DDB could come with new and improved 2020 vision.

Why was I gone for so long?

For those of you who didn't know, I was in the final year of my undergrad degree in 2019 which meant balancing the blog and my academics would be a tough task from the onset. I managed the workload for the majority of the year, but when it got to the last quarter of my academic season, things got a "tad" bit hot and a cool off period was needed from DDB. The break was also to facilitate a creative rebirth. I wasn't having the same positivity I had when I'd write and the process started getting flat, so I think a break was really necessary so I could give you guys the best content that you guys deserve.

The break however, is now a thing of the past and I'm proud to announce that DDB is officially back! I completed my undergraduate degree and I'm now going forward to my finish my Honours qualification; as Drake and Future would say, "Life is Good." Delroyit'sDelroy Blog is coming to you this year with a whole lot more fire content that I believe will definitely elevate you a step ahead of the game, so stay tuned and carry on growing with the DDB fam.

Before the year ended in 2019, I had the opportunity to collab with someone whose photography skill I've respected for the longest time. We were actually supposed to do something for the blog right at the beginning of the year but, our schedules never allowed us the chance. So when both of us were free we immediately hopped on the chance and a shoot for the ages.

VisualsbyLife (aka Upenyu "Hoops" Hamudikuwanda) is a photography genius. He diversifies his art by ranging from artistic photography focused on highlighting emotion through portrait photography, to fashion photography with the cleanest of locations which ultimately highlights story behind clothes. Our collaborative effort focused on the latter extreme of his range, which composed of minimal backgrounds used to highlight a minimal fashion style. I jumped on this idea straight away and I decided to blog about it because this is the type of style I'll be experimenting with throughout the course of the year. Minimal clothing is extremely interesting because I feel like it requires more technique and finesse by combining fit, colour and silhouette in order to make a composed outfit. I feel as if this form of dressing provides more reward than your typical hypebeast/branded clothing style. Although it is fulfilling to have a famous brand labelled on your clothing, I personally feel that a true testament of style is through the compilation of minimal clothing. So ultimately that is the content that DDB will be pushing this year and I urge you guys to give it a try. Fashion is all about pushing the boundaries, minimal style is all about that, the feeling of achieving a great look is the ultimate reward and as DDB promised, puts you lightyears ahead of the game.

You've heard all of my stories, but you want to see how the shoot turned out right? So I'm ending off my catch-up session with you guys right here so you can see the work produced from the DDB x VisualsbyLife collab, enjoy, drop us a like and share the blog with all your friends and their friends so we can continue to let others be a step ahead of the game!
